As part of its long-term commitment to a sustainable coffee supply chain, PT Sumber Kurnia Alam (SKA) held a 4C Training & Refreshment session for the entire SKA entity. The activity aimed to strengthen staff understanding of the principles and standards of 4C Association certification, while refreshing the procedures and work practices that support the company’s compliance with the standard. 

Why 4C Training Matters 

4C (Common Code for the Coffee Community) is a global certification standard that emphasizes economic, social, and environmental aspects of coffee production. This standard is a key foundation for SKA in meeting export market requirements, while also aligning with international regulatory demands such as EUDR, which increasingly emphasize sustainability and supply chain traceability. A strong understanding among internal staff is key to ensuring the standard is applied consistently across all of the company’s work processes. 

Training Content and Activities 

The training was held internally, involving staff from various departments directly involved in farmer data management, traceability processes, and standards compliance. The material covered included understanding the basic principles of 4C, internal procedures related to fulfilling certification standards, and preparation for the upcoming compliance audit. The training method combined classroom sessions with interactive discussions to help participants better understand the material.
